Lovely moment as Students surprised their Custodian with a Brand new car
A heartwarming video has gone viral on social media, showing a group of Virginia high school students who teamed up and saved enough money to surprise their school custodian with a brand new car worth $20,000.
The custodian, Francis Apraku, received the surprise on September 9th in the parking lot of Vienna Inn, a local restaurant.
One of the students, Bennett, expressed how much they all cared for Francis, saying that he was more than just a custodian to them. When they found out his dream was to own a Jeep Wrangler, they decided to make it a reality.
“As a challenge, we decided to start a fundraiser to see if we could make his dream come true because he does so much for us, but he gets nothing in return,” Bennett told Good Morning America.
Speaking about the fundraiser’s success, Bennett added, “In the first two days, we raised $5,000, and we were in shock. It was amazing to see how quickly the community came together to support someone they didn’t even know.”
When Francis received the gift, he was overwhelmed with gratitude, saying, “The custodial staff and I deeply cherish the connection we have with the Madison High School students. We take pride in our work and love being made to feel like a valued part of the school community. I couldn’t believe it when I received such an incredible gift. This means the world to me, and I will never forget their kindness.”
