Chubby cat rescued from Hospital basement, Placed on strict diet

An overweight cat named Kroshik was recently rescued by animal doctors after trying to escape a strict diet.

Weighing 17kg, Kroshik was found in the basement of a hospital where staff had been feeding him biscuits and soup.

According to the Daily Mail, the cat had been abandoned by his previous owners.

Kroshik had been gaining weight to the point where he could barely walk. At the clinic, doctors struggled to perform an ultrasound on him due to his size, so they placed him on a special diet.

To help him shed the extra weight, Kroshik is also expected to walk on a treadmill from time to time.

“Kroshik’s story is an extremely rare case when someone loved a cat so much that they fed him to such a state,” a spokesperson for the Matroskin Shelter in Prem explained.

The authorities described the moment they found him attempting to escape: “He was extremely displeased when we caught him disguised as slippers, but after giving him some food, he mellowed out.”
