I have married more than 20 men and Got divorced 20 times

A 71-year-old woman named Veronica has shared her heartbreaking story of being married and divorced 20 times.

Through tears, she recounted how her longest marriage lasted just four years, and during this difficult journey, she contracted HIV.

Veronica explained, “I’ve lived with 20 men, and now I’m on medication for HIV. The medicine requires food, but life has become so hard.”

Her story began in 1967 when her father arranged her first marriage without her knowledge. She returned home to find he had accepted a bride price, and she was expected to marry a man she barely knew. This marriage lasted four years, but the couple struggled to conceive, leading to misunderstandings, physical abuse, and eventually, a breakup.

She said: “My father approached one of his friends and he arranged for me to be married he accepted the bride price, I had been away but upon my return, i discovered that my father has found what he believed to be the perfect man for me as of 1967, I would begin living with this man as his wife however, the marriage only lasted for 4yrs without any success in conceiving a child this led to misunderstandings and finger pointing and it even resulted to physical abuse eventually we decided to part ways.”

Despite the pain, Veronica didn’t give up on love. She married again, and for a while, things seemed to be going well. She was working, paying her bills, and even started buying goats. But after three years, this relationship also turned toxic and ended. She moved in with her uncle and soon met another man, leading to her fourth marriage. This time, the man truly loved her, but interference from their parents caused the marriage to fall apart.

She continued: “I went to my aunt place and later met a man whom i got married to it was my second marriage at first everything seems fine, i was working, paying my bills and even started buying goats however the relationship eventually became toxic and lasted for 3years after that, I then went to live with my uncle and then met another man whom i got married to this was my 4th marriage this man deeply loved me but our parents intervened and broke up our marriage so i went back home however It didn’t take long for me to find another man whom i got married to unfortunately after just 5months, we separated.”

During this times, Veronica kept hoping that things would get better with each new marriage. However, her family began avoiding her, fearing she might influence her younger sister negatively.

Despite the challenges, she met a man from the Kikuyu community who wanted a child, but she couldn’t conceive. He eventually left her, accusing her of jealousy when he had a child with another woman.

She continued: “At home my family started avoiding me out of fear that i would influence my younger sister negatively life became difficult as i grew older however i met a kikiyu man whom i had always been attracted to he desperately wanted a child but unfortunately i couldn’t conceive i allowed him to seek a baby elsewhere where he impregnanted a young lady However he accused me of intending to harm her out of jealously which led to fight and ultimately ended our relationship despite this, I still maintained my outer beauty and dressed elegantly which got the attention of men one young man fell in love with me and convinced his parents that i was much younger than i actually was we spent 3months together but eventually his parents forced me to leave. “I had no other choice than to stay in a church for a year, the pastor welcomed me happily but i also had some friends with whom i could go out drink have fun and do everything including men after again, i decided to go on my own and started selling vegetables that is when i met a man and we started living together I would find other men when he was away at work and then returned without him knowing however i later discovered that he had a second wife and he eventually abandoned me. “In 1996 i became pregnant by a man who wasn’t even my husband he was just a friend, he is the only man who has ever made me pregnant I gave birth later on and when the baby turned 3 i sent her to the village to stay with my mom.”

That didn’t stop as she continued to remarry from the 10th-16th but none of her marriages lasted long and this made people think that she was the whole root of this problem.
