Our relationship is not Lesbian, People criticize us because of my husband gender

Published

on

A woman named Tiffany has shared how people label her and her husband’s relationship as “lesbian” because her husband, Kyle, is transgender.

According to Tiffany, they faced significant criticism on social media after Kyle revealed that he had transitioned from female to male. Kyle explained that he realized he was in the wrong body while growing up, despite trying to fit into a girly gender role.

Kyle shared how he met Tiffany: “It started as a really good friendship, and from there, we just continued to talk, and one thing led to another.”

Talking about his transition, Kyle said, “I started transitioning about nine and a half years ago. I always knew something was different about me as early as 6 or 7 years old. I just didn’t have the words to describe it. It wasn’t until about 10th grade that I had a friend who was transgender, and he helped me understand my identity. I watched coming out and transition videos on YouTube, and realized that this was how I felt. I knew I didn’t want to transition in high school because I was worried about people’s reactions. When I was about 21, I started taking testosterone injections, and now I’ve been on testosterone for about nine and a half years.

“Growing up as a girl, I tried to look as girly as possible, but I always felt awkward and uncomfortable. I would wear stereotypical girl colors like pink and dresses to blend in. I knew I was different and transgender, but no one else knew. I even went out of my way to find the most stereotypical girly dress to fit in. Top surgery was my first-ever surgery, and I have no regrets. I’m very happy with where I am now, and I’m content with who I am.”

When asked if Tiffany had ever dated a trans person before, she said, “Kyle is actually the first trans person I have ever dated. I came out as bisexual at 18 and was still figuring out my sexuality. I focused more on personality than sexuality. I came out as pansexual about 5 or 6 years ago. Many people presume we are in a lesbian relationship, but it doesn’t make sense to me. If you see us walking down the street, no one really thinks twice until they hear Kyle’s story.”

Kyle added, “I started facing criticism on social media as soon as I vocalized that I was trans. When I put it on the internet, I received a lot of hate comments, with people saying I’m not a real man or expressing strong religious opinions.”
