I don’t have regrets, I’m happy finding a home in my body before my baby found me
Danny Wakefield, a trans man, has addressed the numerous questions regarding his pregnancy, sharing his journey on TikTok.
Responding to inquiries about whether childbirth caused him gender dysphoria, Danny clarified that it did not. He emphasized that people’s misconceptions about him being a confused woman are entirely incorrect.

Danny explained: “The truth is no, not really. Some of you might be thinking that just confirms I am a woman and confused, but it’s actually quite the opposite. Once I was able to learn and internalize that gender is a construct and that our bodies don’t equal our gender identities, that having a uterus doesn’t make someone a woman, because intersex people, trans men, and non-binary people can have a uterus too.”

He continued, “Finding comfort in my own body before experiencing pregnancy and birth allowed me to find comfort through the process. And it’s discomfort that fueled my confidence as a pregnant, trans masculine, non-binary person. Between that confidence and my community, I was able to deflect the hate of others, the hate that often fuels dysphoria for me. And what this process has taught me is that it doesn’t matter how many people tell me that I’m a woman because I had a baby. My existence is proof that trans and non-binary people have babies too.”

Danny Wakefield also expressed his deep gratitude for his journey and the gender-affirming care he received. He shared that he has no regrets about his transition and is thankful for being able to create a nurturing space for his baby within his own body.
“I have zero regrets about accessing the gender affirming care that I did. In fact, I’m so deeply grateful for the privilege of finding a home in my body before my baby found me,” he said.
