I hope my son finds me one day and accept me as his mom- Homeless woman cries out

A 70-year-old woman has shared her story of struggling with loneliness after being abandoned by her son.

 In an interview with “News on the Streets,” she recounted her journey from Jamaica back to Canada at age 29, due to fears of losing her landed status.

 Upon her return, she faced homelessness despite working at Humber River Regional Hospital and doing other jobs like cleaning houses and preparing surgical instruments.

She also stated that when she came back, she became homeless and did not have anywhere to live and she has been living in canada for 43yrs whereby she works in a hospital “Humber River Regional hospital” , clean houses cook and also prepare instruments for the surgery.

She shared that she once had a house, was married, and had a child, but now feels isolated and without human connection.

“I was married, i have a house and i child, I was feeling like human but now I don’t feel like human, it’s hard I come out here and sit here because I have no body It’s just me.” She said in a part

Despite joining a senior club and engaging in gardening and crochet, she feels profoundly alone. She expressed her hope that one day her son will find her and accept her back into his life.

When asked if she had people who come and visit her, she said: “yeah, that’s why I’m here because see you there talking to me because where i’m there is nobody there to talk to me so i just clean up, cook food and then I come to the park sit or I go to the community garden, I register in the senior club but i like gardening and its my whole life and i like crochet, it is my sanity, it is my friend so i make it and i enjoy doing it I do crochet from when i was 9yrs old and this is what it is.”

When asked about her son she said: “I hope one day he finds me and accepts me back as his mom.”
