I Have Lost Many Job Opportunities Because of Poor Power Supply in Nigeria – Lady Cries Out Over Constant Electricity Problems

Published

on

A Nigerian woman has expressed deep frustration over the country’s poor electricity supply, revealing that constant power outages have affected her work, career opportunities, and ability to create content.

Follow Our WhatsApp Channel here

In a video shared on TikTok, the woman was seen crying as she opened up about how unreliable electricity has caused her to lose several international gigs and job opportunities.

She explained that when she previously worked with foreign clients, she often had to visit her friends’ homes to charge her laptop because she did not want to disappoint them or miss deadlines.

The woman also revealed that the electricity situation continues to affect her creative projects, including a video she was making for a beauty competition. According to her, she had already started filming and applying makeup when the power went out, forcing her to stop the process.

She added that even when electricity is restored, the supply is often too weak to power important equipment.

Crying while speaking, she said: “I hate Nigeria I hate Nigeria……I hate Nigeria with the core of my beingwith every single thing in me little things that should not be a problem is a big issue in this country little things that should not even go far why is electricity still hard to get in 2026 in big 2026? Do you know how many people have missed job interviews? Do you know how many people have missed foreign gigs because of electricity?”

She recalled how she previously had to rely on friends’ homes to charge her laptop while working for international clients so she could complete assignments and submit them on time.

The woman explained that her current struggles with electricity have affected her ability to produce makeup and fashion content, noting that filming requires proper lighting and equipment.

She said she was preparing a video for a beauty competition when the power supply interrupted her work, leaving her unable to continue filming.

According to her, she has also spent money buying fuel to run alternative power sources, despite her financial struggles.

She said: “electricity is a big problem is like when you talk about electricity, you’re talking about something that is in a foreign land, something as basic and common as electricity.”

The content creator explained that power issues have reduced the amount of content she creates because of challenges such as heat, poor lighting, and equipment failure.

She added: “I don’t create as much. I don’t create as much makeup videos or even fashion videos. Cause why would you be creating and be sweating like a she goat? Only be doing makeup. Do you know how much one makeup product is?”

The woman continued to express her disappointment, saying the constant electricity problems have affected her motivation and mental well-being.

She said: “When I tell you I Hate Nigeria. I hate this country with every, every, every ounce of my being, every ounce of my being, every house of my being.”

She further described how the situation has affected her personally, saying:

“I am frustrated. I am tired. I’m a go getter. Anybody that knows me knows that I’m a go getter. But this country is soaking the life out of me. I’m just thinking that I have to be here. I have to do something. Here is physically and mentally draining me.”

The woman added that the electricity crisis has affected her ability to pursue the future she wants for herself.

She concluded by saying: “This place is fucking with my mental health. It is fucking with my capacity. It is fucking with your life that I know I want for myself. I just hate this country.”

I Used to Wonder If My Father Was Angry About How I Became His Child – Lady Laments, Accuses Her Father of Drawing Meaningless Tribal Marks on Her Face

Published

on

A Nigerian woman has caused reactions online after sharing her experience of growing up with prominent tribal marks on her face, which she said were given to her by her father when she was a baby.

Follow Our WhatsApp Channel here

The woman shared her story in a video posted on TikTok, where she questioned why her father chose to give her such extensive facial scarification at such a young age.

According to her, she has grown up feeling unhappy about the appearance of the marks and wondered whether her father had been angry when they were made.

Speaking in Yoruba, she said:

“Supposing i was wise before my death died, I would have given my father mic and ask him what he did my face like this, dont you see it asumming he gave me small tribal mark it would have been better, it does not even have any handwriting he just drew nonsense on my face was he angry he gave birth to me? or my mom offended him because this one is too much, they didnt have mercy on my face at all they just drew it anyhow on my face”

In Yoruba culture, tribal marking is traditionally known as Ilà Kíkọ. The practice involves making permanent marks or scars on the face or body, often during childhood, and was historically associated with family heritage, identity and social status.

While the practice was once common in some Yoruba communities, its prevalence has declined considerably, and views about facial scarification have changed over the years.
